#147 is not just a number

My country , my love

My country , my love

O God of all creation
Bless this our land and nation
Justice be our shield and defender
May we dwell in unity
Peace and liberty
Plenty be found within our borders.

Bless this our land and nation
Justice be our shield and defender
May we dwell in unity
Peace and liberty
Plenty be found within our borders.

Let one and all arise
With hearts both strong and true
Service be our earnest endeavour
And our homeland of Kenya
Heritage of splendour
Firm may we stand to defend.

Let all with one accord
In common bond united
Build this our nation together
And the glory of Kenya
The fruit of our labour
Fill every heart with thanksgiving.

We wake up early, prepped for the day; eagerly awaiting its challenges and its joys. We overlook in the rush of forming our “own”, that other people are around us and though maybe in our eyes they don’t really matter as much, let us not forget that success is built on another man’s back.

If only we all believed this....

If only we all believed this….

So just once uplift one another instead of tearing each other down. Say something nice to the person next to you, not because you want something from them but genuinely because you appreciate the good in them. Acknowledge their best, treasure them; it brings for a united community.
Just once declare the truth instead of spiraling tales of deceits to fit your state of affairs. For mendacity requires more mendacity to remain firm and eventually all your saying is lies and more lies. Man cannot live on lies.
Just once applause all those who need praise (be it your kids, parents, employees) for the little things they do instead of shredding them apart for what they did not accomplish. It’s the small victories that are more important
Just once let us honor the decrees of this beautiful republic that is set apart to lead us to amity, love and harmony; that together using the incorrectly placed phrase of ‘we are one’ abide to the notion that I am my brother’s keeper disregarding his/her race, gender and other misconstrued ideas we may Haber.
Just once  let us ask each other for forgiveness for our wrong doing, and allow for the evolution we always speak about in letters, texts, in conversations to actually come to be true in our lives; for without forgiveness we carry anger and anguish that cannot dissipate until we truly let go and seek each other in the midst of adversity.
Just once let us smile at a friend genuinely instead of those half smiles that just don’t quite reach your eyes but stretch and fill your cheeks
Just once let us truly be one, not a version of unity brought about by disease, famine, acts of terrorism or violence, but truly one because we want to be, because we deserve to be, because we are one through blood, through culture, through government, through society.

WE- ARE-  ONE!!!!
